Welcome Back!

If you received an email notifying you of a new post, well here it is and welcome! Our website has been down for a year and it took quite a bit of time to get it restored. But it is back and just in time, because we are getting ready to depart on an amazing adventure that has been almost 5 years in the making.

After our Alaska 2017 trip with our home, a 40 foot long Cedar Creek 5th wheel, we decided we wanted to return to the Last Frontier in a smaller footprint. As you know we love to boondock and explore the out of the way areas of America.

We shared our future adventure with our good friends, Virgil and Delores, whom we having been “wintering” with for the last 5 years, and together we started in 2018 planning our return trip to Alaska with a start date of May 2020. Virgil and Delores bought a used slide in truck camper built by Elkhorn, and we bought a used slide in truck camper built by Bigfoot. So there ya go, the legend of Bigfoot and Elkorn was born!

Well Covid hit, and the world changed, and here we are now, 2022. This trip would be very different as we are traveling via the (Blue Canoe) Alaska Marine Highway System https://dot.alaska.gov/amhs/index.shtml. Please look on the menu bar for “Alaskan Adventure 2022” for our itinerary and more information, to include a “real time” Garmin satellite tracker map to display exactly were we are!

We will be getting on and off the Blue Canoe at 7 ports of call beginning 11 May, fishing and living of the land, and yes going to Walmart in Juneau!

Ann Marie and I leave Statesboro on 14 April to begin our trip north to visit a good friend and Masonic Brother Lane in Johnston, SC. Well okay, not too far north but hey, we are keeping our tires round! From there we go to Virgil and Delores’ house in Spencer, IN, were we will begin our adventure together. First to visit Ann Marie’s sister and BIL Karen and Troy, in Isanti, MN, before we head to Bellingham, WA for our first Blue Canoe ride!! WooHoo, we are excited to get this show on the road.
