It’s only been a month since I put fingers to the keyboard
We left our lush tropical paradise on Cinco de Mayo, marking the start of our adventure. Our first night was spent at a Walmart in Starke, Florida, along US Route 301. We made a conscious decision to steer clear of major interstates and instead take the scenic route along US routes and secondary roads.
Ferry Reservations
As of now, we only have two reservations booked:
- Bar Harbor, Maine to Yarmouth, Nova Scotia
- North Sydney, Nova Scotia to Argenta, Newfoundland
Time at Statesboro
After our initial stop, we arrived in Statesboro where we stayed at a friend’s farm for two nights. This visit gave us the wonderful opportunity to catch up with Jonathan. We had a great time reminiscing and now it’s time for the second stop on our Mother’s Day Tour.
Whispering Pines Campground
Next, we stayed at Whispering Pines Campground in Rankin, Georgia, just a couple of miles from Daniel’s house. This worked out perfectly! We enjoyed our time catching up and got to see Lucy and Owen, our youngest grandchildren. Now it’s time for the final leg of our Mother’s Day Tour.
Visit to Julie’s
We made our way to Julie’s house, where we happily parked in her front yard. With ample property available, it was no trouble at all. Although the weather was a bit warm, we utilized our onboard generator to run the air conditioner in Bigfoot to keep cool. Luckily, the nights were pleasant, and we didn’t need the AC after all. We had a wonderful time together and got to see Brandon, our oldest grandchild. Now, we are ready to embark on the next part of our adventure northward!
