SeeBreeze Resort,
Seal Beach Navy Weapons Station
Very nice campground. Free washer/dryers/ice. Huge level concrete slabs with lots of green space. A great park for only $35 night.
Well not much smog today, but Good-bye, SoCal !
We just finished up two weeks in Southern California, where the weather was terrific and the traffic was heavy….It was great spending Christmas with our kids that flew out to see us and our friends Virgil and Delores.
Collectively we are ready to leave the big city and continue our journey through the southwest. We are looking forward to “claim” our spot(s) in the desert, somewhere…..
Our last night in Seal Beach we all went to a “New York Style” pizzeria and enjoyed some thin crust pizza, not too bad. Then we strolled on the pier to see a view of Long Beach and a southern California sunset.
Got on the freeway this morning by 0945 and it was an easy drive of 152 miles. Not too many times in our travels are we driving one of 14 lanes of traffic! But traffic was moving with no problems. We arrived at our spot of paradise on BLM land in the dessert just at the south entrance of Joshua Tree Park. We are going to stay here 3 nights (zero $$) or so, so we can visit Joshua Tree and the Salton Sea.
After we set-up, we enjoyed good company, happy hour, some snacks, and a desert sunset.
Sightseeing tomorrow!
