Portsmouth, NH
So off we go exploring again. We decided to head to Portsmouth for some “Lobstah”. Portsmouth is a hopping little city. The streets are narrow and really busy. People everywhere. I guess they are so happy to be out in nature and not stuck in their homes!
We went to the Naval Base to explore. While driving around getting a lay of the land, finding the PS and Commissary we saw at the other end of the base a very large looming building that looked like a castle, A castle? We had to check it out. As we got closer to it you could see the age start showing on the outside and then you saw the windows boarded up, grass growing up around it. It was spectacular!!!
The placard said it was a prison built int he 1800’s. Unbelievable that they had the knowledge to create a magnificent structure that many years ago,
As you got close to the building you could feel the coolness emanating off the concrete. Boy they must have been freezing in there in the winter.
I took as many pictures as I could showing the beauty of the construction and what 200 years will do to a building. A wonderful stop before we get lunch!
The “Ghost” was also there, I’m sure a non-working prototype but pretty cool. Check out this link

So were were told the best place for “Lobstah” was Warrens so off we went. Yes it was the best. We were both so full that we were miserable. I am so glad we got lobster bibs. By the time we were done there were flecks of shell everywhere. Our waitress schooled us on how to disassemble the lobster and get the best parts. We both agree the claws are the best. Sweet, rich and succulent.
After we waddled back to the truck we took a leisurely drive back home
