G: We left North Carolina at 830 am for our 350 mile northward journey to Pennsylvania. We stopped for fuel at “South of the Border”. Thought it ironic, but the diesel was $1.87. We arrived at Hersey RV Resort about 430pm, and what a great looking resort. We wish all resorts are like this. Ideally we like to travel under 250 in a day, as our interstates will flat beat you up when towing. But we decided to cut the journey to NY in thirds, so our last leg to Rome, will be about 280 miles. After Rome, on to VT, NH, Maine, New Brunswick, Prince Edward island, Nova Scotia, Quebec, Montreal, Rome, Niagara Falls, St Clair, Mi, Goshen, In, and then to Circle Pine, Mn (by Minneapolis). After that we are heading back south to Alabama for an RV Rally, and then we are unsure if we will winter in Key West, central Florida, or head to Arizona. We shall see, so stay tuned. This will be a 7000 mile trip so it is great warm up for the 16,000 mile trip to Alaska.
We are using this trip to Nova Scotia as a gauge to see how we like a 5 night cadence of moving across the country. Our goal is to visit what we can in each surrounding areas, plus we want to visit each state capital, attend minor league baseball games, and drink at wineries/distilleries. If you have a favorite place you have been, by all means let us know! We will adjust our travel schedule at each stop as necessary as we go out west and up to Alaska.
AM: As we were driving I noticed the buds on the trees just opening up. What??? So in our travels we are chasing Spring! The further north we go the earlier in the season it is.
I love this RV park. The RV spots have space and the surrounding areas are well kept. I could see us spending some time here in the future and exploring all of the sights and sounds this area has to offer.
