Second and last stop in Maine Trenton, ME
|
Trenton, ME
We got to Trenton ME today. The drive was very beautiful. As we have been driving up north we have been following spring. The leaves are budding and everything is getting green.
The one thing we have seen ever since we have gotten into the New England States are signs proclaiming “Moose” sightings and warnings. We have seen signs stating they will be in the roadways. Let me confirm that in the three weeks we have been in this area the sightings of “Mooses” had been nil. George says that when I finally see one I will not know how to act.
So we took a quick drive into Bar Harbor, pronounced BA HA BA, it was beautiful. Again quaint streets and shops. Houses along the coast are huge and spectacular.
We were able to walk on the sand bar that connects Bar Harbor to a neighboring island. During low tide you can walk on it. We started back across when tide was coming back in. It was really cool watching the water swallow up the walkway we had walked on only minutes before.
We had a beautiful sunset. Pictures cannot capture the colors that are seen. Mother Nature was in rare form with the colors in the sky. In the west golds and blues, in the east pinks and blues. Breathtaking.
I know it seems like we repeat alot of these adjectives, spectacular, breathtaking, beautiful, but in this great land of ours we seem to be finding them all around us. We are truly lucky to be able to see all of this!
