Cochise, Az
We are leaving Dennis’ Ranch today, with new brakes and new axles, but we are going separate ways!
As you know, we wintered with our friends Virgil and Delores, they joined us in Alamogordo, NM at Holloman AFB in November. It is hard to believe 5 months went by that quick…. we had a great time! They are heading back to their home in Spencer, IN, and we will continue to travel through the lower 48 northwest. We are not saying “good bye” but rather “safe travels, til we meet again”.
During the last 5 months, we moved to a new “home” 13 times over 1,600 miles in the southwest, which is a nice slow pace, as we sought out the optimal “flip-flop” weather…… and spent almost 2 months dry camping in the desert.
Virgil has 1080 watts of solar and we have a 1000 watts so we each had all the power we needed, and lived like we were in a full hook up campground. All we had to do was haul fresh water and dump our gray/black(poop) water every week or so. Don’t laugh, it is better than mowing grass or shoveling snow…..
What is not counted in those stops and miles, are the many sight seeing miles and places that we visited. From National Parks to Museums, beaches to mountains and deserts and everything in between. It was alot at a slow pace, and it we enjoyed every minute!
Ice cream and pizza seemed to be a recurring theme as we visited the south west. Ann Marie and Delores alternated cooking each dinner, and let me tell you, those girls can cook! Man we ate good……..
Some of our photos from the past 5 months………enjoy…..
