Oh, Oh that’s right, I remember, it’s the Alamo! We are here walking the San Antonio Riverwalk. And yes it’s all that it’s been talked about, very nice, very relaxing, and the German beer is amazing.
We took a narrated tour of the Alamo by a very civic minded young lady who loves the Alamo. She painted a great mental picture for us as she narrated the story of the very important history of the Alamo, much of which I dd not know, or forgot since grade school ! I did have to correct our tour guide once. When we entered a small Sacristy room in side the chapel, she said when the Army had occupied the Alamo, soldiers had etched their initials in the stone walls. I told her that was folklore, as a soldier would not do that unless his name was Kilroy! She didn’t get it, so I tried to explain, but it was no longer funny….
The weather was a perfect 75 and sunny as we strolled around the Alamo and the riverwalk area.W e are staying at a Army RV park inside Fort Sam Houston.
