G: Very nice, modern, but yet traditional, and FREE..This is one of the few museums that had exhibits with signs that stated ” please touch”. The museum was three floors, the third floor was the sports Museum, second floor was off limits, and the first floor was a chronological view of the state of North Carolina. Everything from Indians, slavery, segregation, Revolutionary and Civil Wars, the World Wars, and Vietnam we’re all covered. Oh yeah, Pepsi Cola is an NC original, and for you southerners, Piggly Wiggly started here in 1952!
Of course we went into the museum gift shop…. there we saw a t-shirt that explained something we didn’t understand yesterday. We had gone to a BBQ place for lunch (not good) and on our table was only a vinegar bottle of “bbq sauce”. We are not fans of it and could understand why that was all they served. Well look at the t-shirt picture, we are in the eastern part of the state ! Note to self.
