Grand Forks AFB
Grand Forks, ND |
We drove straight into the northerly 25 mph wind most of 330 miles here from Andover,MN. There were gusts to 50 mph. We saw one 18 wheeler that landed in the muddy center median. We took it slow and easy and arrived at 4pm to a chilly 37 degrees. They had snow here three days ago, but it is all gone except for the cold air. Forecast is for spring snow storm of 8 inches of snow “down south” in Fargo, 20 degree windchill here for Wednesday. According to the news, the county had already removed their snow plows from their trucks and had removed the salt spreaders….That’s ok, this is our “Alaska Prep”. Nice camp ground, full hook ups at $16 per night. Only one other camper here, bathhouse is closed because water is shut off there. We will stay until the big snow storm passes through and the road are good. Woke up this morning, no snow here! 31 degrees and windy. Snowed a few miles south of here, but the ground and trees are still brown.
