Got Lobstah?

4-12 June 2023

We stayed at Timberland RV resort in Trenton Maine for eight nights. However, it was supposed to be seven nights but we lost count and ended up staying another day! The gang of 4 was about exploring and I got a call from the campground and asked when we were leaving. I said “uhh”, tomorrow , right? She said no Mr. George you and Chapter 11 were supposed to leave today. Oopsy… That is when you know things are good! Who cares what day of the week it is or when you have to travel to another destination!

We had a great time in Maine we ate alot of lobster. Of course we visited Bar Harbor, Acadia National Park, and Cadillac Mountain. We took a trolley ride and also took a train ride.

We got caught up in getting all of our medicine refills before we cross the border. And it was a nice relaxing time. We put up the she shed in between our two rigs and that was our headquarters for eating and playing games. In fact one afternoon we’re playing a game and laughing when all of a sudden the head popped up next to the screen of the tent and said “y’all are having too much fun in there”. Well, it was our neighbor who is jealous so we invited him and talked for a while then we went over to their place for a little bit a good time was had by all of.

We left Trenton, Maine with a long 300 mile drive ahead of us to get to the Bay of Fundy in New Brunswick. The Canadian border is just 100 miles away. We got to the checkpoint and were issued a yellow slip of paper which meant we had to be inspected by another customs agent. We were told to park in lanes 7 and 8 . One agent went into chapter 11 and one went into gypsy to inspect. Well, we know the law and none of us are carrying a gun. After about 15 minutes, the agent came out of gypsy and came over to Ann Marie and I and said he needed us to open up our trailer slides. He said the first drawer he inspected he found a trigger guard for a gun… DAMN IT..

So we walk out to Gypsey and open the slides and were told to go back to the building and wait. About an hour later he came back carrying our safe and said he didn’t have a key for this but he ran it through the x-ray and he didn’t find anything. So we are clear to go.

Well, were not worried, but it is an unsettling feeling when someone is going through all your stuff. The trigger guard was in our junk drawer that we forgot to get rid of, damit, my fault.

So we finally arrived at a small family Campground called Ponderosa Pines, which is right next to the Bay of Fundy. It was a long day driving on some very narrow pot holed roads, plus we gained an hour .The temperature when we arrived today was 87° and sunny.

Howie after a long drive.
