Andover, MN Last day in Andover, Mn. It has been been great visiting with family here. We don’t see them very often, so it is nice to catch up and see the new addition, Harvey our great nephew.
The time zone change from EST to Central, even just one hour has me awaking one hour earlier. So 0430, and I’m up, so I get a early start doing things, while my wifey is still sleeping. Hopefully I will adjust to the time zones the farther west we go. We went to the bank to get Canadian $$, exchange rate was 0.781. I’m sure our Canadian friends are not too happy about it, but we are! filled up with diesel at $2.45 gal. I called the Grand Forks AFB, North Dakota and their FamCamp is open early! They said the bathhouse is still closed due to freezing temps, but we are welcome…. only $16 a night with a NPS Access pass!! It is about 330 miles from here, so that will be a good stopover for a day or two. Wait, did I say freezing temps? It was snowing there but it is not sticking to the roads. I’ll be checking the weather report in morning. We have been on solar since we left Augusta (7 days ago) and today is cloudy so I doubt I’ll get a full solar charge. The AFB will be a good opportunity to connect to 50A, dump and rinse the black tank, go to the commissary and make the final push to Canada. It is always a good feeling every-time we are on a military installation. It is our home for sure…..
