We left Denali State Park about 10am. It was an easy 125 mile drive south on the Parks Hwy. The road was good. Denali seemed to follow us, just amazing.
JBER- Joint Base Elmendorf Richardson in Anchorage. Elmendorf AFB and Fort Richardson were combined in 2005 by BRAC. JBER is operated by the Air Force and is a large installation of about 7000 acres just north of Anchorage.
There is a FamCamp here where we will stay for a couple of weeks thru the 4th of July. As we drove thru the campground looking for our next “view”, we decided not to take the site a Mamma Moose and her two calfs were grazing! Thank you for the welcome!
We will use this area as a home base to explore other areas.
We set up and went to the commissary to restock. Taking it easy til Saturday and will go to Palmer, AK.
