Belleville, IL Last night late the Genealogical guy called and said all of their records were at the public library in Belleville. Duh, why didn’t we think of it yesterday while we were in the area. So the dilemma this morning is, do we go or not. Guess what, we are off again. It is an hour drive but since we are so close we cannot not go. The folks at the library were very helpful and so our researching begins… Well we found the listing for W. F. Reckentine, age 25, residence St. Louis marrying Clara Wagner, age 20, residence St. Louis on April 9, 1895 in a book, no original certificate to gleam information from. They are a dead end. So we started the hunt backwards thru books, microfiche’s and the library computer. After four hours we called it quits. Our heads and eyes were spinning. Unfortunately no more information about this possible relative can be found. So we put this hunt on the shelf for the time being and are heading back to Saint Charles to have a pot luck dinner with our Cedar Creek friends.
