Cruzin on Lake Powell

Lake Powell Cruise.

We had lunch overlooking the lake, and waited for our boat tour.

We  boarded the boat at 1645, got the most forward seat on the top deck, and off we  go through the marina, and a couple of channels before we hit the 500 foot deep Mighty Colorado River.

We were 13 miles up river from the Glenn Canyon Dam, and traveled about 20 miles upriver. Wow, the rock formations, Buttes, Mesas, canyon walls are awesome.

As the sun set, the rocks began glowing, and together with the shadows from the peak, it was amazing scenery but weird. Weird, becasue when you gaze out and see all the rock formations, it seems like you are in the dessert, yet there is all the water… Wow, oh, btw, this is Navajo country, so I was constantly on the lookout for an ill-fated arrow pointing at us!

Oh I forgot, it was a beautiful day, about 75 degrees with a slight breeze. Perfect day.
