Changing with the Wind……..
Gadsden, AL
Gadsden, AL First and foremost, we hope all our friends are safe. We were glued to the weather channel keeping an “eye” on our family in Augusta and Savannah. They all weathered the storm thankfully…. We just finished up a FROG rally here in Gadsden, AL. We had a good 6 days here and it is time to move on. But with Hurricane Matthew reeking havoc on the east coast the last so many days, we have to delay our next stop eastward to Yemessee, SC. They got hammered, in fact, after calling another campground up by Lake Hartwell, SC, she said the Yemmesse campground evacuated most of the current RVers to there, including the campground host and staff! Roads are still impassable. So she could not guarantee us a spot, even though we had reservations. OK, so just because we are full timing, and have no place to be at a certain time, right? Well, at this stage in our travels, we still make short term plans of about 9-12 months so we can travel in a general direction at the right time of year (chasing flip-flop weather). Of course Mother Nature likes to interject her plans as well, so we do not mind being flexible, and staying on her “good” side of safety is a priority. So we will stay inland for a few weeks in Hoehenwald, TN, about 200 miles NW from Gadsden which is the wrong direction from our kids. Then we will travel to Augusta for 3 weeks, and then somewhere around Savannah for about 10 days or so. We are bummed because we were planning on living close to the family for about 7 weeks (thru Thanksgiving) before we head to Key West on 1 Dec. but we will make it work. We are not complaining, because we know there are allot of people suffering through the devastation of the storm and they are in our prayers. We don ‘t need to be in the way……..
