At the Cracker Barrel with an ole Friend
Springfield, MO
Springfield, MO Before we left St Charles, I reached out to Jim to see if we could meet him for lunch at a Cracker Barrel in Springfield, as we were heading “south”. We set a time of 1330 as the gps “never lies”. Cracker Barrels are a good stopping place when towing an RV, as typically the parking lot is large, it is close to a major interstate, and if needed, an RV can spend the night in their parking lot (after too much). When we pulled into the parking lot at 1330, standing there was a smiling and waving Jim, holding a notebook, and guiding us into place. Jim, an ole friend and coworker from Club Car, retired about ten years ago and moved to Springfield/Branson area of Missouri. Over the past ten years, Jim and I would exchange football notes and “pleasantries”, as he is a KC fan, and of course, I’m a New York Football Giants die-hard, true unwavering fan. Where was I? Jim would always end our conversation with “when you guys going to visit Missouri”? I would respond with “one day”….and he would say that life is too short and get a move on it….. Well we’re here !! We enjoyed our 2 hour lunch, we got all caught up with our lives, and Jim made some very good recommendations on places to see and visit while here. More on that later, because like always, he was dead on with his picks….. So until we meet again..
