For me, my wanderlust started back in the 1960’s, as my Father owned and rented 13 foot and 15 foot Serro Scotty travel trailers. We did a fair amount of camping as a kid and I loved it.
After 20 years in the Army, I got to visit many places in the world, which always encouraged my dream to explore America. Ann Marie and I love to travel. We have camped alot, from tents, to pop-ups, and travel trailers.
Our kids and grands enjoyed camping with us, and the pontoon boat we had was always fun. We always had a great time and we have many fond memories. We thoroughly enjoyed taking our oldest grandson, Brandon on alot of trips.
Our “Oh Ha” moment was 7 years before we retired, when we started looking for land to build our retirement home. After much looking, we decided we did not want to be tied down to a new house, we would rather travel.
That thought evolved into becoming RV Full-Timers and live in an RV as we travel the country. So we bought a Cedar Creek fifth wheel and a Ram 3500 BFT (Big Friggin Truck), so we could explore our great country.
So after six years of planning and downsizing, our sticks and bricks (house) sold after being on the market for 8 days. We got rid of everything that we owned, and what we kept had to fit into our 40 foot fifth wheel and the BFT.
We moved into the Cedar Creek in December of 2015 so we can finally start the next chapter in our life. I kept working remotely for another 4 more years.
We can not express how much we appreciate the selfless support and help that our grown children have provided to help us to this point in our lives. We are truly blessed and grateful, but will miss our family.
And now our journey begins. We have no set itinerary, just places we have dreamed about. We hope all of you enjoy and as we share our journey.
